Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Assignment Description

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer for a primarily on-site assignment involving aviation SATCOM products. You will work on software for airborne communication systems in a technically complex setting with large codebases, communication-intensive systems and structured development processes. The work calls for reliability, quality and compliance, as well as an ability to work comfortably with technical complexity.

Working with engineers across disciplines, you will take part in requirements-driven development and verification. Your responsibilities also include software design, implementation, debugging and performance optimization, alongside the design, development and maintenance of embedded software in C/C++. Reviews, testing and documentation form part of your work to ensure software quality in a regulated, safety-conscious environment. You need an analytical, solution-oriented approach, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to the wider engineering team.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience both developing and maintaining large software codebases
• Experience in technically complex environments with high quality standards
• Solid hands-on experience programming in both C and C++
• Familiarity with structured development processes driven by requirements
• Strong experience in embedded software development
• Experience working with communication systems, protocols or telecom-related products

It is considered an advantage if you have experience in aviation or aerospace software development, SATCOM systems, DO-178C or similar aerospace standards, or airborne communication systems. Experience in other regulated industries, such as automotive functional safety, medical devices, defense or telecom, is also considered an advantage.
