Senior Data Engineer

Assignment Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a hybrid assignment requiring regular on-site attendance. The work covers building and maintaining large-scale data platforms and backend solutions that support several business-critical products.

You will turn pipeline designs into robust, scalable implementations and maintain them over time. You will also create and refine data processing solutions shared by multiple teams, develop services and APIs that make data accessible, and investigate, resolve and optimise existing platform functionality.

Close collaboration with engineers, analysts and product stakeholders is central to the assignment. Working at a fast pace, you will contribute to architectural discussions, technical improvements and the continued development of modern data infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

• A solid background in developing backend solutions.
• Experience programming in Java or Scala.
• A strong command of the fundamental principles of software engineering.
• An academic degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent.
• The ability to communicate fluently in English.
• A background spanning several years as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role.
• A strong ability to write code in Python.

It is considered an advantage if you have worked on projects involving Machine Learning or AI, or with solutions for data warehousing. Experience with platforms for monitoring and observability, messaging platforms and event-driven systems is also advantageous. Other relevant merits include experience with cloud-native architectures, containerised environments and Kubernetes, as well as streaming technologies and platforms for distributed data processing.
