Mechanical Engineer

Assignment description

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the development of interior components and surface materials within a complex product development environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of interior trim components, including wall and ceiling panels, as well as specifications for materials such as textiles, vinyl and leather. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Purchasing and Styling to ensure that solutions meet technical, quality, styling and cost requirements.

The role also includes close collaboration with Styling around material appearance and feel, monitoring material costs and creating or modifying designs in Catia V5.

Qualifications

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• You have at least 4 years of experience within engineering or mechanical design.
• You have strong experience working in Catia V5.
• You have experience working with Styling Surfaces / A-surfaces.

Meritorious

• You have experience with Enovia.
• You have experience from the automotive industry.
• You have knowledge of interior materials such as textiles, vinyl and leather.
• You have experience from product development involving ergonomics and styling.
• You have a specialization within product development, design engineering or materials engineering.

You are diplomatic, collaborative and communicative, with a flexible and solution-oriented approach. You are comfortable working across several cross-functional teams and managing different stakeholder needs while balancing technical, styling, production and cost requirements.
