Assignment description

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer for a long-term assignment focused on chassis integration for battery-electric heavy-duty vehicle solutions.

The role involves mechanical design and integration of components and systems within the chassis, with a focus on sheet metal design, brackets and installation solutions, pneumatic components and installations, as well as component packaging and chassis integration. Experience in one of these areas is relevant, while experience across multiple areas is preferred.

You will design and develop components and installation solutions, work with CATIA V5 and applicable design standards, and handle component packaging, interfaces, tolerances and installation requirements. The role also includes collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams, participation in design reviews, validation and technical investigations, as well as maintaining technical documentation and supporting production when needed.

Qualifications

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • You have at least 3 years of design engineering experience.
  • You have previous R&D experience from heavy-duty vehicle development.
  • You have strong competence in sheet metal and/or pneumatic design.
  • You have experience with CATIA V5 in both 3D and 2D.
  • You have experience with tolerance analysis.
  • You have a good understanding of component packaging, interfaces and installation.
  • You have knowledge of manufacturability principles, particularly for sheet metal, plastic and/or pneumatic components.
  • You are fluent in English.

Meritorious

  • You have previous experience in chassis design and installation for heavy-duty vehicles.
  • You have experience combining several of the relevant technical areas.

You are proactive and self-motivated and able to drive design activities independently. You collaborate well with suppliers and cross-functional teams, communicate clearly and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
