AI & Automation Engineer (Team)

Assignment Description

We are looking for a hands-on AI & Automation Engineer to modernize Data Center and Infrastructure operations across compute, virtualization, HCI, storage, backup, Windows/Linux, identity, network, security and hybrid cloud. The goal is to reduce manual work and move toward an SRE/PRE/MIRE operating model based on automation, observability, self-service and proactive operations.

You will build reusable, production-grade automation and self-service workflows for provisioning, patching, backup/recovery, access, configuration and infrastructure lifecycle management. The role includes Ansible Automation Platform, Python, PowerShell/Bash, Terraform/OpenTofu, APIs, GitOps and CI/CD, with strong focus on testing, rollback, approval and auditability.

You will develop AI-native infrastructure capabilities using GenAI, LLMs/SLMs, Microsoft Copilot/Copilot Studio, RAG/Agentic RAG, agents, MCP/A2A and tool calling. Use cases include incident triage, root-cause analysis, capacity forecasting, change-risk assessment and controlled self-healing, supported by LLMOps/GenAIOps practices.

The role covers VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Local/HCI, Windows/Linux, Active Directory, storage and Cohesity/backup, DR, containers/Kubernetes and Azure/hybrid cloud. You will use AIOps and observability to correlate telemetry, detect anomalies, predict risks and automate remediation while measuring reliability through SLI/SLO, MTTR/MTTD, availability and change-failure metrics.

You will integrate ServiceNow ITSM/ITOM and CMDB with infrastructure, monitoring, security and automation platforms to enable end-to-end workflows. All automation and AI solutions must follow Zero Trust, least privilege, RBAC, secure identities, policy/security-as-code and controlled approval processes for privileged or high-risk actions.

Required skills:

• You have strong experience with Windows Server, Linux/Unix, Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS/DHCP.
• You have experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter, Hyper-V, Azure Local/Azure Stack HCI and HCI platforms.
• You have experience with SAN/NAS, enterprise storage, replication and backup/recovery platforms such as Cohesity.
• You have hands-on automation experience with Ansible, Python, PowerShell/Bash, Terraform/OpenTofu, REST APIs, JSON/YAML and Git.
• You have experience with GenAI, LLMs/SLMs, Agentic AI, Copilot/Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Foundry, RAG/Agentic RAG, vector search, MCP/A2A and LLMOps.
• You have knowledge of SRE/PRE/MIRE, SLI/SLO, error budgets, MTTR/MTTD, change failure rate and toil reduction.
• You have experience with AIOps and observability, including telemetry, anomaly detection, event correlation, predictive analytics and OpenTelemetry.
• You have experience with Azure, Azure Local/Arc, Azure Monitor/DevOps, containers/Kubernetes and platform engineering.
• You have experience with ServiceNow, CMDB/ITOM, monitoring/NMS, SIEM/SOAR and enterprise APIs.
• You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• You have 10+ years of experience in Data Center, Infrastructure, Cloud, Virtualization or Automation engineering, including hands-on enterprise infrastructure operations.
• You have production experience with Ansible and scripting/API-based automation and experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V.
• You have practical experience with AI, Copilot, AIOps or intelligent automation and can work across Infrastructure, Cloud, Network, Security, Service Management and Architecture teams.

Preferred certifications:

• You have relevant Microsoft Azure/Azure Local/Windows Server/Linux certifications.
• You have VMware VCP or equivalent virtualization certification.
• You have Red Hat/Ansible Automation certification.
• You have Cohesity or equivalent data-protection certification.
• You have Terraform Associate or equivalent IaC certification.
• You have Microsoft AI/Copilot/Foundry credentials.
• You have ITIL and/or ServiceNow certification.
