AI Software Engineer – Semantic Data & LLM

Assignment description

We are looking for an AI Software Engineer – Semantic Data & LLM to join a data platform team working with semantic modelling, LLMs and unstructured data.

In this hands-on engineering role, you will help extend a governed semantic layer across both structured and unstructured data. You will build LLM-based agents that combine warehouse data and document-based information, develop pipelines for document parsing and entity extraction, and create retrieval solutions that preserve permissions and source traceability. The role also includes evaluating the quality of extraction and retrieval methods.

Qualifications

• You have 5+ years of experience building and operating production systems with well-tested code.
• You have strong skills in Python and/or TypeScript.
• You have hands-on experience with unstructured data, including document parsing, information extraction, entity resolution, embeddings and retrieval.
• You have experience building LLM-based solutions, preferably including agents and RAG.
• You have solid SQL skills and a good understanding of relational data models and data warehouses.
• You have a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or equivalent experience.

Meritorious

• You have experience with semantic modelling or semantic layers, for example dbt Semantic Layer or Malloy.
• You have experience with ontologies or knowledge graphs.
• You have experience with Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake or data governance.
