Senior test developer

Assignment description

We are looking for a Senior Test Developer to join a team responsible for maintaining, developing and continuously improving an automated regression test environment for embedded software.

In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring the stability and reliability of the test infrastructure. A key focus is investigating failing, unstable and intermittent tests, identifying root causes and determining whether issues originate in the test implementation, test environment or software under test.

You will develop and maintain automated tests in Python, analyze logs and test results and continuously improve test robustness to reduce false and intermittent failures. The role also includes maintaining and enhancing test frameworks and supporting tools, as well as integrating automated regression testing into CI/CD pipelines.

You will work closely with developers and testers when investigating and resolving defects and contribute to continuous improvements of test processes, tools and infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Must-Have

• You have senior-level experience in software testing and test automation.
• You have strong hands-on experience with Python.
• You have proven experience maintaining and troubleshooting automated test suites.
• You have strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• You are comfortable troubleshooting complex software and test environments.
• You have experience analyzing logs, test results and system behavior.
• You have experience working with Git.
• You have a structured and methodical approach to problem solving.
• You are able to work independently and take ownership of technical issues.
• You have strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Nice-to-Have

• It is meriting if you have experience testing embedded systems.
• A plus is experience working with Hardware-in-the-Loop, HIL, environments.
• It is meriting if you have experience with pytest or similar Python testing frameworks.
• Experience troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines and automated test environments is an advantage.
• A plus is knowledge of communication protocols and interfaces commonly used in embedded systems.
• It is also meriting if you have experience with Jira and/or Jama.
• Experience working with large-scale automated regression test suites is considered an advantage.
