Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking an Electrical & Electronics Engineer to Complete Electrical HIL.

Our client is making bold digital visions come true. They aim to lead in the automotive world by creating a digital ecosystem built around making their customers’ lives less complicated. Now they are looking for curious, creative people who want to change the world through innovative thinking.

Complete HIL Development is a team at our client’s organization responsible for developing and maintaining electrical HIL rigs (Hardware in the Loop) at the complete vehicle level. Their HILs are used for integration and verification of both HW and SW in early phases. The purpose of HIL is to stimulate the system and its components to believe they are in a real vehicle with all their dynamics. This is achieved by simulating environmental models that execute in real time on dSpace SCALEXIO simulators. They ensure that the HIL rigs can be updated with new technology to support future projects such as electrification and autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with development teams, including their current team of testers.
  • Perform testing of embedded software, incorporating automated testing within their Continuous Integration (CI) system.
  • Conduct testing on embedded software, hardware, and wireless components connecting to their cloud infrastructure.
  • Utilize real mobile devices and cars for testing purposes.
  • Define and execute test scenarios, ensuring comprehensive coverage and quality assurance.
  • Propose innovative approaches for testing, contributing to the enhancement of their testing methodologies.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the core competence of our client’s future team.
  • Embrace the journey towards creating a connected experience, anticipating and addressing challenges with enthusiasm and creativity.
  • Test case execution.
  • Result documentation.
  • Test rig setup and testing.
  • Knowledge and interest in automated testing and CI.
  • Programming knowledge for creating automated tests.
  • Being part of the change ahead.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or B.Sc. grade within electronics, physics, mechatronics, or similar education.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in automotive electrical system design, development, and integration.
  • Skilled in Continuous Integration.

Technical/Behavioral/Interpersonal Competences:

  • Experience in the design and development of electronic components and systems, both HW and SW.
  • Design, development, and testing of electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, power distribution systems, and control units integrated into Complete HIL rigs.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical and electronic components into Complete HIL rigs.
  • Thorough analysis and troubleshooting of electrical systems, identifying and resolving issues to meet performance and safety standards.
  • Implementation of communication protocols and networking solutions for seamless connectivity between onboard systems, sensors, and external devices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical support and guidance to internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience in Test-driven development and creating Test descriptions/Specifications.
  • Model-Based development in Simulink/Stateflow.
  • Design and development of Graphical User Interfaces for test benches/rigs.
  • Working with building HIL and automated test systems in dSpace rigs.
  • Experience in domains such as Hybrid and/or electric vehicle development, AD/ADAS, Infotainment or Body functionality, HMI and Connectivity, Powertrain and High voltage systems, Brake systems, and Verification in vehicles at the system or functional level.
  • Working with scripting and test automation (Python, CI, Jenkins).
  • Vehicle communication (CAN, LIN, ETH) or other communication protocols.
  • Highly skilled in Matlab, Python, or RobotFramework.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Gerrit), dSPACE software (e.g., ConfigurationDesk, ControlDesk, ModelDesk), building dSPACE HW (SCALEXIO Customized Rack and/or LabBox, compatible IO boards), and traffic simulation environments (e.g., IPG CarMaker, VTD Vires).
  • Knowledge of automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) and regulatory requirements (e.g., EMC, EMI).
  • Skilled in Agile/SAFe framework and release experience according to Agile VPDS.

Desired Attributes:

  • Organizational skills and ability to coach team members.
  • Effective communication and collaboration.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Curiosity and problem-solving ability.
  • Flexibility and multitasking capabilities.
  • Social and effective teamwork.
