Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Mobile Apps Software Developer specializing in Android.

Our client’s mobile app has revolutionized the industry by simplifying daily routines for hundreds of thousands of people. This app allows users to remotely access their cars from the comfort of their couch, enabling actions such as starting the car, heating it, and sending destinations directly to the vehicle from a phone, tablet, or smartwatch.

As part of a cross-functional agile team, you will develop a mobile app and supporting systems that are crucial for the entire feature to function effectively.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain our client’s Android applications for phones, tablets, and smartwatches.
  • Engage with the rest of the team and actively pull tasks from the backlog.
  • Write testable code and unit tests.
  • Conduct code reviews with colleagues.
  • Maintain a broad interest in all parts of the solution, exploring more than just mobile apps.
  • Keep up with technical trends and suggest innovative features.

Required Qualifications:

  • BSc degree in a computer-related field, equivalent work experience as a mobile apps software developer, or significant hobbyist development experience.
  • Documented experience with released applications (at least one published app) or contributions to open source projects.
  • Experience in writing testable and maintainable code.
  • Proficient in Kotlin with a robust understanding of the Android platform and framework.
  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written.

Meritorious:

  • Experience in C/C++ embedded development.
  • iOS mobile app development experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure .NET development.
  • Familiarity with agile tools such as Jira, Git, and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of software development automation.
  • Good understanding of BLE technology.
