Assignment description

We are looking for a Senior Cloud-Native Platform Engineer to help drive the transition to a modern, cloud-native operating model on Azure, with strong foundations in SRE and platform engineering.

In this role, you will help build and evolve shared platform capabilities such as Azure landing zones, governance, security baselines, logging, and CI/CD golden paths. You work closely with development teams and SRE to enable reliable, scalable, and compliant software delivery through reusable infrastructure, automation, and clear standards.

You balance standardization with team autonomy, act as a maintainer in an inner-source model, and focus on creating a great developer experience that makes it easy to do the right thing.

Qualifications:

• You are a senior platform or cloud engineer with proven experience in platform engineering, cloud foundations, or similar roles.
• You have previously owned or led the design and evolution of a platform, landing zone, or cloud foundation.
• You have strong hands-on Azure experience and have built production-grade infrastructure, not just designed it conceptually.
• You have deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code, with Bicep as a primary tool.
• You have solid experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• You understand policy-as-code and governance at scale, including Azure Policy and enterprise guardrails.
• You are comfortable working with Azure security services such as Defender, Purview, Key Vault, and Managed Identities.
• You communicate technical decisions clearly and write concise, high-quality documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• You are familiar with the Azure Well-Architected Framework and understand best practices in large-scale, hybrid enterprise environments.
• You have an automation-first mindset and focus on standardization and enablement rather than gatekeeping.
• You have strong knowledge of Azure PaaS services, including Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Event Hub, Log Analytics, and Azure AI Foundry.
• You have experience using one or more programming languages to support automation and platform tooling.

Nice to have:

• You have an understanding of SRE practices such as SLOs, error budgets, and incident management.
• You are familiar with FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization.
• You have experience working in regulated environments such as insurance or financial services.
