Assignment description
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a team working with advanced engineering and concept vehicles. The team focuses on early-phase development and concept work, often involving new technologies such as electrification, hydrogen, and e-Mining.
In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of uncertainty, where flexibility and adaptability are key. You will contribute to concept development and design, supporting the creation of innovative technical solutions while ensuring feasibility and alignment with project goals.
You will create 3D models and concept-level drawings in Catia V5, and support the development of solutions within areas such as cooling systems, braking systems, steering, and battery installations. The role also includes close collaboration with R&D, Production, and other cross-functional stakeholders, as well as participation in vehicle layout work.
You will be involved in validating design concepts, including performing or supporting FEM calculations, and delivering design work at a “good enough” concept level within tight timelines. You will also contribute to continuous improvement of technical solutions and ways of working.
Qualifications:
- You have minimum 7 years of experience within mechanical design or a related field.
- You have strong experience from concept development and early-phase engineering.
- Yu have proven experience working with Catia V5 (3D).
- You have good knowledge of Enovia or similar PLM systems.
- You have experience in designing BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) solutions.
- You have an understanding of vehicle layout and system integration.
- You have experience within cooling systems, braking systems, steering, or battery components is highly meritorious.
- You have knowledge of FEM calculations for design validation.
- You have the ability to work in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
- You have strong collaboration and communication skills.
