Assignment description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer / Design Engineer for an assignment within heavy truck development, focusing on VCB component installations.

In this role, you will lead and support VCB system installations in ongoing truck projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and solutions. The assignment includes contributing to modular system development, including VCB distribution boxes, charging boxes and inlet installations, PTO installations, cable harness brackets, strain relief solutions and VCA cable interface integration within the chassis domain.

You will collaborate with global teams across product planning, production and design to ensure robust, manufacturable and scalable solutions. The role also includes supporting integration, validation testing and design reviews, maintaining and updating technical documentation, and contributing to production-related activities when needed.

As part of the team, you will participate in daily activities such as stand-ups, coordination meetings and internal knowledge sharing. You will also support the continuous improvement of digital tools and engineering processes, helping drive innovation in future transportation solutions.

Qualifications:

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• You have at least 2 years of experience within design engineering, preferably from the automotive industry.
• You are skilled in sheet metal bracket design.
• You have experience with chassis installation for heavy-duty trucks.
• You are proficient in CATIA V5 and tolerance analysis.
• You have knowledge of manufacturability principles for sheet metal.
• You are fluent in English.

You are collaborative and comfortable working with both suppliers and internal teams in design reviews. You have strong facilitation and communication skills, and you are proactive, self-motivated and able to inspire and collaborate with teams.
