Assignment description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead complex defence projects from inception through to industrialization.

As Defence Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for planning, coordinating and driving assigned projects towards agreed objectives, scope and deliveries. The role requires the ability to combine a strategic perspective with strong operational execution and provide clear leadership in a complex environment involving multiple stakeholders and functions.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, partners and cross-functional teams to create alignment around common priorities and ensure that projects progress according to plan. A key part of the assignment is to provide structure and direction while building commitment, collaboration and accountability within the project team.

You will lead the planning, execution and delivery of assigned defence projects, ensuring that activities and deliveries are aligned with strategic objectives, scope, priorities and timelines. The role includes building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, coordinating and supporting project participants throughout the project lifecycle, and fostering collaboration, accountability and a strong learning culture within the team.

You will also oversee project budgets, resource allocation and financial tracking, while proactively addressing risks, dependencies and challenges. The role requires clear communication of project status, priorities and key decisions, as well as the ability to work with both senior stakeholders on strategic direction and project teams on day-to-day execution.

Qualifications

• You have a master’s degree, preferably in engineering, business or another relevant field. Equivalent professional experience from similar assignments may also be considered.
• You have proven professional experience in project management.
• You have a strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies and ways of working.
• You have the ability to manage project budgets, resources, timelines and deliveries.
• You have proven leadership experience and the ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams.
• You have experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
• You have a strong track record of driving projects and initiatives towards agreed objectives and deliveries.
• You have experience managing stakeholder relationships at different organizational levels.
• You have the ability to combine a strategic perspective with structured operational execution.
• You can create alignment and maintain focus on common priorities and outcomes.
• You have strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• You can provide structure and direction while building commitment and collaboration within the project team.
• You are comfortable working with both senior stakeholders and project teams in day-to-day execution.
• You communicate fluently in English.

Meriting experience

• You have previous experience from complex industrial or similar project environments.
