Assignment description

We are looking for a React / Kotlin / AWS Developer & Tech Lead to join a team developing a global, cloud-based application used by retailers and service organizations.

In this role, you will combine hands-on development with technical leadership and contribute to both the continued development and maintenance of the application. You will work with modern technologies while also improving the existing software stack to ensure that architecture, development practices and technical solutions remain scalable and up to date.

You will share responsibility for several micro frontends and microservices that together form the application. The solution is fully cloud-based and runs on Kubernetes in AWS, with deployments managed through GitLab CI pipelines. The frontend is built with React-based micro frontends, while the backend consists of Kotlin microservices. Kafka is used extensively for communication between internal and external services.

The role gives you the opportunity to work closely with other developers, influence technical direction and contribute to reliable, high-performing software used in a global environment.

Qualifications

• You enjoy working in a team that takes full responsibility for developing, deploying and operating applications in production.
• You are comfortable with development practices such as event-driven architecture, trunk-based development and continuous deployment.
• You have strong technical judgment and can assess when a solution is not ready to ship, communicate risks clearly and help the team make sound technical decisions.
• You have previous experience in backend development, while experience in frontend development and AWS is also highly relevant.
• You are passionate about technology, continuous learning and modern software development practices.
• You are comfortable taking a senior role within the team, supporting, teaching and guiding other developers.
• You have a strong interest in continuous delivery, automation and building reliable development processes that enable teams to move quickly with confidence.
