Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Studio Engineer.
CMF Studio Engineering, designated as 51223, operates within Design Operations, 51200, at Design. The team comprises two key roles: Program Studio Engineer and Specialist Studio Engineer. Each role is tasked with ensuring the feasibility of CMF (Color, Material, Finish) design delivery within their respective areas of responsibility, and striving to meet design intentions as comprehensively as possible. This requires close collaboration with other departments within Design, Engineering, and various units across the company. Additionally, extensive external communication and collaboration with numerous suppliers, spanning both automotive and non-automotive sectors, are integral aspects of daily operations.

What You’ll Do
As a CMF Studio Engineer, you will collaborate closely with CMF Designers to develop new materials and strategies, as well as plan for upcoming deliveries. This role requires the ability to grasp the big picture while engaging in detailed technical discussions. Work dynamics may evolve over time as projects transition across different phases and programs. Flexibility, openness to decision changes, and the ability to learn new methodologies and face challenges are essential. Some concepts may be unprecedented.
Your primary focus area will be decorative materials, including wood, metals, glass, plastics, etc.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the delivery of CMF with technical expertise to meet design intentions.
- Ensure the delivery of masters within the designated area of responsibility.
- Short- and long-term planning of design deliveries.
- Challenge engineering when necessary to meet design intentions.
- Contribute to and engage in strategic work.
- Foster a creative dialogue with suppliers.
You Also Have:
- Technical university degree or equivalent based on work experience.
- Documented material knowledge within textiles.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English.
- Experience in CMF development work.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead and plan one’s work.
- Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to understand and articulate design intentions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Capacity to build a broad network.
