Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Software Engineer to enable Software Verification and Validation on Hardware-based Test Environments.

Our client’s development centers heavily focus on software (SW). In their next-generation vehicles, they take a giant leap into the future by launching a centralized compute platform capable of hosting most of the active safety, driver support, and vehicle motion control SW. Connecting all exterior sensors to a central computer greatly enables in-house SW development, continuous innovation on a stable compute platform, and superior customer offerings. Together with their partners, they are building a modular, service-based perception platform and leading safety and driver support applications. Our client is setting the scene for future safety innovations as well as autonomous driving features. They deliver on their purpose of providing safe, personal, and sustainable mobility aiming towards a future of Zero Collisions.

In the next generation of vehicles, our client is building a ”computer-in-the-car” architecture, key to enabling innovation within Vehicle Motion, Advanced Connectivity, Machine Learning, and Autonomous Drive. Their mission is to create a Vehicle Control Unit platform using new technologies like DriveOS and NVIDIA’s latest chip technology, in combination with more traditional car signaling technologies. This core computer and the corresponding platform will simplify the software/application development to create a safe, reliable, and secure platform for increased innovation and speed.

The hardware-based test environments are built around this computer-in-the-car architecture. These setups are a combination of vehicle simulator and real hardware components to emulate a real vehicle with all relevant dynamics. Our client’s teams are responsible for the development and maintenance of these test environments, ensuring that they are capable of executing relevant test cases for platform, software, and function verification. The hardware-based environments are state-of-the-art test setups, critical for testing software before the final product launch. Hence, you will be working in a fast-paced, innovative environment, solving daily problems and challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within a small, cross-functional team with a focus on quality and continuous improvements.
  • Define hardware-based test environments.
  • Set up hardware-based test environments.
  • Configure hardware-based test environments.
  • Work on software application tasks on core computers.
  • Deploy software applications on core computers.
  • Perform modeling work using Matlab and Simulink.
  • Enable test automation to support Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • M.Sc or B.Sc in Electronics, Physics, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or a similar field.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in Software Development, Verification, and Validation.
  • Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively with all types of stakeholders.

Meritorious:

  • Knowledge in vehicle communication such as CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet as well as programming skills in Matlab and Python.
  • Experience in model development in Simulink and familiarity with Agile methods.
  • Knowledge of sensing technologies and perception development methods.
  • Experience in SW platform development, including middleware.
  • Experience working in hardware-in-loop environments such as dSPACE or Vector.
  • Knowledge in vehicle/traffic simulation.
  • Integration of sensor technologies (radar, camera, lidar, ultrasonic, etc.)
  • Programming skills in C++.
  • Experience in verification in vehicles at the system or functional level or experience from test automation.
