Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Lead Engineer.

At Connected Experience within our client’s R&D department, they are responsible for providing the best and most secure connected user experience in the automotive industry. Our client has received widespread awards from the international press for showcasing this system globally. To support this exciting future, they are looking for a software responsible to strengthen their team.

Main Responsibilities:

• The team you will work with is responsible for the area of hardware development of their infotainment head units and surrounding interface components.
• Your team manages the development at the suppliers to ensure their requirements and time plans are met, also considering cost efficiency.
• The group consists of two teams. This role is in the team that handles the Driver Information Module (DIM) and Vehicle Gateway Module (VGM).
  • DIM: Displays information regarding the status of the vehicle, such as the vehicle speed or the fuel level. It controls the prioritization of messages for the combined instrument display, the Graphical Head-Up Display, and the Infotainment Head Unit. It uses the estimation of the driver workload to determine the priority of each message.
  • VGM: Acts like a router and security gateway for access to vehicle functions. Responsible for handling development, system safety, and cyber security-related topics. Functional testing of the software developed by their suppliers and fault tracing by diagnostics is also included.
• As the Lead Engineer, you will:
  • Continuously work on securing the deliveries for our client’s production and aftermarket.
  • Compile the technical requirements from the various stakeholders and ensure that the supplier has accepted the scope for development.
  • Review the test and validation results with colleagues working with software and hardware, as well as with suppliers.

Qualifications:

• Flexibility, self-drive, reliability, and strong teamwork skills.
• Proactive attitude, taking responsibility for deliveries, and striving to build a great product for the end customer.
• A B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Automation, or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Experience in the automotive industry in Technical Lead or Project Leading roles, managing or owning electronic components for release to production or similar is meritorious.
