Assignment Description
Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Software Engineer. This role is within their Commercial Digital team, which uses digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a customer of our client. The experience of buying a car should be enjoyable and exciting, just like owning a new car—that is their mission. They create the end-to-end experience for online sales/subscriptions of cars, global campaigns, and frameworks for other parts of our client’s organization.
Your responsibilities will include the rapid development of prototypes/concepts and regular product development within the Quality & Reliability Engineering department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Engineering Leadership: Lead and contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around monitoring distributed systems at scale.
- Automation Efforts: Design, develop, and implement test automation strategies and frameworks that align with product requirements and quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of automation testers, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
- Test Planning and Execution: Oversee the creation of detailed test plans, test scripts, and test cases for automated testing, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all product features.
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast and reliable feedback on code quality.
- Tool Selection and Implementation: Evaluate and select appropriate testing tools and technologies, ensuring they meet project needs and enhance the efficiency of the testing process.
- Defect Management: Lead the identification, reporting, and tracking of defects, and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Test Reporting: Provide regular reports on test progress, coverage, and results to stakeholders, highlighting any risks or issues that may impact delivery.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and to drive quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in testing and quality assurance and drive initiatives to implement these improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Automation Test Lead or in a similar role, with a strong background in software testing and quality assurance.
- Extensive experience in developing and maintaining test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, etc.).
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) used in test automation.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or DevOps.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and testing in cloud environments is a plus.
