Assignment Description
Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Functional Safety Engineer. Safety is a top priority for our client, and they apply functional safety (FuSa) principles across all their products to ensure the well-being of their customers. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Inverter System Team, focusing on the functional safety work products of the inverter system.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Functional Safety Engineer, your role will include:
- Creating and maintaining the project safety plan in collaboration with project management and engineering teams, aligned with the client’s Product Development System (VPDS).
- Analyzing incoming functional safety requirements.
- Performing the Technical Safety Concept and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
- Defining technical safety requirements for both hardware (HW) and software (SW) designs.
- Reviewing and conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA).
- Reviewing and performing Hardware Metrics / Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA).
- Preparing the Safety Case with all relevant documentation.
- Supporting system and hardware designers both within and outside the Power Electronics department regarding FuSa design for power conversion products.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with product design in compliance with ISO 26262.
- Prior experience working with automotive systems up to ASIL C.
- A deep understanding of the complete product development lifecycle for automotive systems.
- Strong background in power electronics.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and leading discussions on functional safety.
