Assignment Description
Our client is currently seeking an Embedded Software Developer focused on implementing and troubleshooting control algorithms close to hardware. Experience in CANopen is required.
Our client is expanding the AFS team for an exciting project within the semiconductor manufacturing sector, a new industry for them. The project’s goal is to design, develop, test, and deploy a mechatronic solution for a goods transportation system, including shuttles, rail structures, charging stations, and a management system. The project includes mechanical, electrical, and software design.
The development team, based in Sweden, is responsible for breaking down requirements, designing, implementing, and testing all components for delivery to a commissioning team in the sales organization. High involvement from the development team is required during the installation and commissioning phase, which may involve travel to the customer site in southern Europe.
This role requires flexibility and teamwork due to a tight project schedule and a growing team. It is essential to collaborate with the product owner and stakeholders in defining and detailing requirements.
Availability for occasional travel within Europe (a few times per year) is required.
Main Responsibilities:
- Embedded software development with a focus on control algorithms near hardware.
- Electronic design engineering in close cooperation with a design house.
- Analyzing and debugging PCBs and electrical schematics.
- Contributing to and participating in EMC compliance and testing.
- Ensuring electrical safety in designs.
- Power supply and electrical design.
- Motor and sensor integration.
- Hands-on debugging during tests.
- Training the support team.
- Close collaboration with the mechanical engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional work experience.
- Experience in designing, testing, and debugging product features (mechanical, electrical, or software).
- Contributing to product requirement definitions and specifications.
- Estimating work packages and assisting project management in time plan breakdowns.
- Producing and maintaining documentation.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory environments with testing and debugging.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment with flexible office locations.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with AGV, AMR, or other mechatronic solutions for industrial automation.
- Familiarity with SEMI standards in automation (e.g., E84) or safety (e.g., S2).
- Experience with clean room applications (ISO 5).
Desired Attributes:
- Creativity and ingenuity in problem-solving.
- A focus on delivering customer and business value in the industrialization of solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and well-structured in your work.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to non-technical colleagues.
