Assignment Description
Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking two Fault Tracers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the build, testing, and maintenance of electrical hardware and software in prototype vehicles and boxcars.
- Analyze electrical hardware and software faults, collaborating with software integration engineers and developers to identify solutions.
- Assist with software downloads and updates for vehicles in Sweden and international markets.
- Support verification and validation activities, including in-market and rig testing in Sweden.
- Manage large workloads in high-pressure environments, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Demonstrate a methodical approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with flexibility and enthusiasm.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience using automotive diagnostic tools such as DSA, VIDA, etc.
- Proficiency with laptop-based diagnostic software, measurement, and calibration tools (e.g., CANalyzer or similar).
- Skilled in identifying and diagnosing vehicle issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.
- Strong understanding of vehicle network architectures such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet.
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and work with vehicle harnesses.
- Knowledge of software/feature fault diagnostic methods, tools, and best practices.
Meritorious Qualifications:
- Expertise in electric and hybrid vehicle architectures.
- Experience working with prototype vehicles and rigs.
- Proficiency in building and commissioning test properties such as rigs and boxcars.
- Familiarity with specialized diagnostic and test tools (e.g., CANoe, CANape, INCA).
- Experience in vehicle repair beyond electrical systems.
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools, including DSA.
- Understanding of automotive pre-production build environments, manufacturing processes, car configuration, feature coding, and VCATS implementation.
- Strong computer skills, especially with Office programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to escalate issues and report when necessary.
