Assignment Description
We are seeking a Compliance Engineer for a full-time or part-time role within a semiconductor manufacturing project. This position focuses on ensuring operational compliance for a mechatronic solution involving shuttles, a rail structure, charging station, and management system. The project is based in Sweden, with the customer located in Southern Europe, and may require occasional travel within Europe.
Main Responsibilities
The role involves conducting risk assessments to ensure adherence to relevant regulations such as the Machinery Directive. You will be responsible for ensuring safety compliance with standards like EN ISO 13849-1:2023 and EN ISO 13849-2:2016, while identifying Safety-Related Parts of Control Systems (SRPCS) and documenting safety functions using SISTEMA or similar tools. Additionally, you will oversee electrical safety and ensure CE marking for electrical cabinets in accordance with IEC 60204-1 standards. Managing and mitigating EMC disturbances will also be a key part of the role. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, external suppliers, and customers to ensure compliance across all project phases. The position will also require active participation in designing, testing, and debugging mechanical, electrical, or software components, contributing to EMC compliance testing and electrical and power supply design. Furthermore, you will assist with producing project documentation and contribute to the time planning and estimation of work packages.
Required Qualifications:
- Expertise in risk assessment and relevant regulations (e.g., Machinery Directive).
- Proficient in EN ISO 13849-1:2023 and EN ISO 13849-2:2016.
- Skilled in using SISTEMA to document SRPCS.
- Experience in electrical safety and CE marking of cabinets (IEC 60204-1).
- Ability to manage EMC disturbances.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Fluent in English.
It is advantageous if you have experience working with SAT and SEMI conductors, along with hands-on involvement in designing, testing, and debugging mechanical, electrical, and software product features. Familiarity with PCBs and electrical schematics is essential, as well as practical experience in EMC compliance testing. The role also benefits from expertise in automated systems like AGVs, AMRs, or other mechatronic solutions used in industrial automation. Knowledge of SEMI standards for automation, including E84, and cleanroom applications, such as ISO 5, is highly desirable.
Desired Attributes
We are looking for you with creativity and ingenuity in industrializing solutions, who can focus on delivering customer and business value. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are key, as is the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical colleagues effectively. You should be comfortable working in a flexible, hybrid work environment and be open to occasional travel within Europe as needed for the project.
