Assignment Description

Our client is currently seeking an AI Architect. The role will have an ongoing responsibility for overseeing the successful execution and continuous improvement of the AI/ML environment and governance structure.

Main Responsibilities:

AI/ML Architecture Overview
You will perform an assessment of the existing AI/ML architecture, covering data pipelines, algorithms, models, and their scalability. This involves identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and potential risks within the current systems, as well as providing recommendations for enhancements.

Strategic Roadmap Development
Your role involves proposing a roadmap to advance AI/ML capabilities, outlining both short-term and long-term goals. You will also define milestones, timelines, and resource requirements to support the proposed roadmap.

AI/ML Operations Platform Review
You will evaluate potential suppliers for AI/ML operations platforms based on criteria such as functionality, scalability, compatibility, and cost. By comparing and ranking suppliers according to the company’s specific needs, you will prepare a summary report of the analysis, highlighting top contenders and offering recommendations. Additionally, you will develop a detailed requirement specification document to streamline procurement, ensuring alignment with the strategic roadmap.

Governance Structure Development
The role requires designing a governance structure that complies with the AI Act and other legal requirements. This includes setting guidelines for AI ethics, data privacy, model transparency, and risk management. You will also provide recommendations for internal training, communication, and monitoring practices to ensure adherence to these governance standards.

Long-term Ownership and Management
You will serve as the primary point of contact for AI/ML strategy, platform management, and governance. Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is essential to align AI/ML strategies with the organization’s objectives. Additionally, you will assist internal teams in evaluating the potential use of AI/ML solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of AI/ML experience, including 5 years in senior consulting or management roles.
• Track record of designing, implementing, and optimizing AI/ML architectures in medium to large enterprises.
• Extensive experience in AI/ML strategic roadmaps, setting milestones, timelines, and managing resources.
• Hands-on experience in researching, evaluating, and selecting AI/ML operations platforms.
• Expertise in developing AI/ML platform requirement specifications and managing procurement.
• Prior experience in AI governance structure design and implementation.
• Familiarity with AI Act, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
• Proficient in monitoring, evaluating, and improving AI/ML environments and governance structures.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.

It is meritorious if you have experience in defining business solutions, fluency in English (with additional language skills being a plus), and a willingness to travel when required for specific tasks, as well as the possibility to influence how AI and ML are managed within a large manufacturing company.
