Assignment Description
We are seeking an experienced engineer in electrical hardware and software support. The role involves supporting the build, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems in prototype vehicles and test setups. Key tasks include fault analysis, collaboration with software integration teams, and managing software updates across markets. The engineer will also assist in verification and validation through rig and market testing. The ideal candidate excels under pressure, efficiently prioritizes tasks, and works independently with a methodical, detail-oriented, and flexible approach. Occasional international travel may be required.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of vehicle network architectures, including CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet.
- Skilled in identifying and troubleshooting vehicle-related issues while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools, such as DSA or similar systems.
- Hands-on experience using laptop-based diagnostic, measurement, and calibration tools, like CANalyzer or comparable programs.
- Ability to interpret circuit diagrams and work efficiently with vehicle wiring harnesses.
- Proficient in applying fault diagnostic methods, tools, and best practices related to vehicle software and features.
Candidates with experience in electric and hybrid vehicle architectures are highly valued. Familiarity with prototype vehicles and contributions to building and commissioning test environments, such as rigs and boxcars, are beneficial. Knowledge of diagnostic and testing tools like CANoe, CANape, and INCA is advantageous, as is a background in vehicle repair beyond electrical systems. Experience in automotive pre-production, including manufacturing processes, car configurations, feature coding, and system implementation, is desirable. Proficiency with standard computer programs and strong communication skills, including effective escalation and reporting, further enhance suitability for this role.
