Assignment description
We are looking for a Senior Hardware & Systems Engineer.
In this role you will be responsible for the power and hardware system architecture for an advanced industrial product. A broad technical understanding of power electronics, embedded hardware, and system-level integration is required to ensure the selection of the right components and architecture for a scalable and efficient solution. You will collaborate closely with electrical design engineers, embedded software teams, and product stakeholders to define a robust, cost-effective, and scalable system.
You will identify and evaluate off-the-shelf power electronics, MCUs, sensors, and other critical components, optimizing for performance, cost, and reliability. You will ensure safe and efficient operation by adhering to relevant electrical safety standards such as IEC, ISO, UL, and CE. Additionally, you will provide technical leadership in key system decisions, including power conversion, energy distribution, and thermal management strategies.
Qualifications:
- You have 10+ years of experience in hardware and systems engineering, ideally within power electronics, industrial automation, or embedded systems.
- You have deep knowledge of power electronics (AC/DC conversion, energy storage, load balancing).
- You have experience in sourcing and integrating off-the-shelf components (e.g., inverters, contactors, power modules, MCUs, industrial-grade sensors).
- You have strong systems engineering mindset – capable of seeing the full picture, from high-level system architecture to detailed hardware implementation.
- You have a solid background in electrical design & safety standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, UL certification, industrial power distribution).
- You are familiar with embedded hardware (MCU/SoC selection, I/O interfaces, CAN, Modbus, RS485, RTOS integration).
- You have hands-on experience in prototyping and lab testing of power systems.
- You have track record of working cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, and software teams.
It is meritorious if you have experience with high-power industrial systems, grid-scale power infrastructure, or automation solutions. An understanding of thermal management and enclosure design for power electronics, and knowledge of cloud-connected diagnostics and IoT integration for remote monitoring of hardware systems is a plus.
