Assignment description
Our client is on a journey building a new architecture and technology stack for collecting data from their wind farms. In focus is scaling in volume of data, more data types and data sources with an option for other types of assets.
You will be working on dataflow part of DDO which is on the client’s critical path towards completing the trial within the timeline which has been communicated to the TechBoard/Digitalisation Board.
This role requires prior experience with Kafka and .Net competence.
You will be responsible for:
- Implementation of a central Kafka in a zone with no connection to internet
- Implementation of a single node Kafka installed on infrastructure locally (Edge)
- Implementation of harmonizer components to make data of same data types but from different data sources uniform
- Exploration and implementation of (commercial) connectors to data source interfaces for both standard and bespoke industrial protocols
- DevOps capabilities in relation to the Kafka stack and the full data flow
Below is a list of ongoing activities in the project:
- Co-develop the Digital Data Onboarding Scope based on the Ørsted defined Design
- Help the customer build Kafka centric capabilities
- Setup, configuration, management and monitoring
- Documentation: handover documents for each activity in detail explaining what has been done and how to do it again
- Architecture, Assumptions and Constraints
- Automation: DevOps and Infrastructure as a code – setup for Edge Kafka (Single Node) and Cloud based Kafka Cluster
- Containerization
- DevOps – Help build and automate
- Cluster Linking
- Data and Schema – Avro and Schema linking
- Kafka Connect and Field Gateway Integrations with Kafka
- Build Harmonizer components to make data uniform for all assets
