Assignment Description

We are looking for a QA Tester. In this role, you will be responsible for performing manual and functional testing of a web-based user portal system written in PHP, in order to validate application behaviour after a complex database migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL. The position involves detecting issues that may affect usability, business logic, and data integrity.

Main Responsibilities

You will perform end-to-end manual testing to ensure that core application functionality remains consistent following the database migration. Your tasks will include validating essential business workflows, form behaviours, reports, and user interactions across the system. You will conduct data validation through the front end, ensuring that records are displayed and function as expected. An important part of the role is to identify and escalate regression issues that may arise from changes in database logic or structure. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to make sure that the system aligns with business expectations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in testing web-driven enterprise applications.
• Prior involvement in system migrations or upgrades, ideally from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
• Strong focus on functional testing, user interface validation, and business logic verification.
• Experience with manual test planning, execution, and reporting.
• Ability to identify behavioural differences in applications caused by backend changes between Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Experience in reviewing requirements and use cases to create detailed, reusable test cases.
