Assignment Description

We are seeking an OT/IT Machine Network Specialist for a fully on-site role in Landskrona. The position involves designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining industrial machine networks to ensure safe and reliable communication between automation systems and IT infrastructure. You will serve as a vital link between operations and technology, supporting both performance and cybersecurity.

Main Responsibilities

Design and manage industrial network topologies integrating PLCs, HMIs, SCADA/DCS, and enterprise IT systems. Configure and commission switches, routers, firewalls, and gateways in line with standards and best practices.

Implement network security for segmentation, access control, and monitoring. Troubleshoot and document incidents while providing support during maintenance or outages.

Maintain system lifecycle through documentation, reviews, and upgrades. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure compliant, high-performing network solutions.

Adhere to industry standards (IEC 62443, IEC61850-3, ISO 27001, NIST/NIS2) and continuously enhance network reliability through new tools and technologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Skilled in configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 network components, VLANs, NAT, and routing solutions.
  • Solid understanding of both OT and IT network environments.
  • Fluent in Swedish and technical English, both spoken and written.
  • Proven experience with key industrial communication standards, including IEC61850, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, Profibus, DNP3, and HART.
  • At least six years of experience working with industrial machine networks in sectors such as energy, manufacturing, process, or water treatment industries.
  • Strong knowledge of redundancy methods and architectures such as Redbox, PRP, and MRP.
  • Sound knowledge of cybersecurity principles—firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection, and secure remote connections.
  • Practical experience with automation equipment such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and drives.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, including network diagrams and P&IDs.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic and monitoring tools such as Wireshark, NetFlow, and SNMP.
  • Relevant post-secondary or technical education, ideally a degree in Computer Science, IT, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, Automation, or similar discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

It is considered meritorious if you have experience leading network projects, implementing industrial cybersecurity frameworks, or collaborating across engineering disciplines. Prior involvement in mentoring or training others, along with a pedagogical mindset, is also highly valued since the role includes sharing knowledge and supporting team development.
