Customer to us is looking for consultant that can act as interim SAM for their company during ongoing recruitment process due to vacancy.
The SAM Manager is a key role in the company’s IT organization. The role supports the company’s ensuring that software assets are acquired, used, and retired in a cost-efficient way.

This includes helping the organization with determining licensing requirements and interpreting contracts and agreements. The role’s focus is supporting projects and IT leaders in setting processes, roles and forums for maintenance of the company’s software assets as well as managing operational aspects such as ordering and renewing licenses/subscriptions and keeping the software asset management tool up to date.

It is fundamental for the company to have sound and cost-efficient long-term partnerships with their license vendors. The SAM Manager works closely with the company’s IT Sourcing Manager to optimize their strategic and tactical engagements with the license vendors.

The SAM Manager role is an integral part of the IT Governance team, taking active part in building relationships and collaborating with counterparts such as architects, projects, and IT specialists and managers. Expected length of the assignment is 3-6 months.

Skills and experience required:

• Expertise in Software Asset Management (day to day operations as well as strategically), with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft and SAP licensing and good knowledge of other major vendors’ licensing rules
• Power user of at least one SAM tool
• Successfully developed, implemented and governed enterprise-wide software asset management policies, standards, strategies and processes
• Experience in how to implement key software asset management principles into projects, programs and preferably to business transformation portfolios.
• Experience in how to implement key vendor management principles
• A demonstrated ability to work cross functional across distinct business units, work with and through others to achieve desired results
• Experience from manufacturing and knowledge about process manufacturing is an advantage
