Assignment Description
We are seeking a DevOps & Database Migration Engineer to support a large-scale cloud migration program. You will work across DevOps, cloud engineering, and database migration tasks, primarily focused on moving databases to Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL using tools such as DMS, SCT, and DataSync. The role involves close collaboration with architects, security specialists, cloud engineering teams, and a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer. On-site presence is required two to three days per week.
The role includes leading and supporting the technical execution of application and database migrations, covering both rehosting and replatforming. You will migrate databases to RDS Postgres from MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres, and Cosmos DB, using AWS tools for schema conversion, query adjustments, and performance enhancements. Additional responsibilities involve developing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, maintaining Terraform configurations, ensuring compliance with internal standards and security controls, and collaborating with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven skills in Terraform, GitHub Actions, and building automated deployment workflows.
- Strong capability working with core AWS services like RDS, EC2, EKS, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Extensive background in converting databases from sources such as MSSQL and Oracle into PostgreSQL.
- Solid understanding of cloud security practices as well as optimizing cost and performance.
- Practical experience using AWS migration tooling, including DMS, SCT, and DataSync.
It is considered advantageous if you have an AWS Solutions Architect certification (Associate or Professional), experience with migrating workloads from Azure to AWS, and knowledge of distributed systems, serverless technologies, and cloud security principles.
Location Requirement: On-site presence is required in Copenhagen two to three days per week.
