Assignment description 

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with a specialty in managing multi-regional AWS cloud infrastructure running several Kubernetes clusters. This role involves an in-depth knowledge of networking, databases, and general cloud infrastructure. Experience in orchestrating multiple Kubernetes clusters across multiple regions is a requirement.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Lead management and maintenance of our AWS cloud infrastructure in Europe
• Design, implement and lead work on our cloud infrastructure across different regions including US and APAC
• Leverage Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate and manage regional infrastructure provisioning
• Deploy, manage and maintain multiple Kubernetes clusters tailored for each region’s requirements
• Design and implement the network architecture to ensure high resource isolation within internal networks
• Implement and maintain cross-regional network configurations like load balancers, inter-region VPC peering, and hybrid cloud architectures
• Develop and enforce stringent network security measures tailored to each region
• Design, deploy, and manage region-specific relational and NoSQL databases.
• Establish cross-regional data replication and backup strategies where necessary while adhering to local data regulations
• Implement and manage region-specific data warehousing solutions using tools like AWS Redshift, ensuring data residency, and security
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, sharing knowledge on multi-regional infrastructure

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Engineering or proven experience providing similar capabilities for solving general problems
• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure management, with a strong emphasis on AWS services
• 3+ years of experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
• Expertise in orchestrating multiple Kubernetes clusters across diverse regions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in backend development, frontend development and data engineering; understanding the stack that is running on the provisioned infrastructure is a bonus
