Assignment description

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a team working with advanced engineering and concept vehicles.

The assignment focuses on early-phase development and concept work involving new technologies such as electrification, hydrogen and e-Mining. You will work in a fast-paced R&D environment where priorities can change quickly and where flexibility, collaboration and the ability to work with a high degree of uncertainty are important.

In this role, you will contribute to concept development and mechanical design, supporting the creation of innovative technical solutions and ensuring that designs are feasible and aligned with project goals. You will create 3D models and concept-level drawings in Catia V5 and work with areas such as cooling systems, braking systems, steering and battery installations.

You will collaborate closely with R&D, Production and other cross-functional stakeholders, participate in vehicle layout work and support FEM calculations to validate design concepts. The role requires a pragmatic approach, with focus on delivering fit-for-purpose concept solutions within tight timelines while contributing to the continuous development of technical solutions.

Qualifications:

• You have at least 7 years of experience in mechanical design or a related field.
• You have strong experience in concept development and early-phase engineering.
• You have proven experience working with Catia V5 in 3D.
• You have good knowledge of Enovia or similar PLM systems.
• You have experience designing solutions for Battery Electric Vehicles, BEV.
• You have a good understanding of vehicle layout and system integration.
• You have knowledge of FEM calculations for design validation.
• You are comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements.
• You have strong collaboration and communication skills.
• You are fluent in English.

Meriting

• It is highly meriting if you have experience with cooling systems, braking systems, steering or battery components.
• Swedish is meriting.
