Assignment description 

Our client is looking for a senior Java Developer to join their team in Gothenburg. The Source Code Management & Build Automation product team resides within CSDS and is responsible for providing R&D with services such as Gerrit (version control system). Gerrit is used by thousands of developers and has been chosen as the preferred version control system for their R&D organization and the intention is to commence contributions to the Gerrit source code.. The team consists of 4 site reliability engineers that enjoy working with CNCF technologies such as Kubernetes and FluxCD.

Responsibilities:

• Dive into source code of Gerrit in order to guide the team on how to properly optimize the applications
• Understand Gerrit source code and help team implement high-availability solution to increase operational stability
• Enhance the Gerrit application along with plugins and contribute relevant changes to the upstream projects
• Participate in open-source community meetings to drive the implementation of features that are in the interest of the company
• Participate in discussions with R&D engineers to better understand and facilitate their needs

Requirements:

• A curious and passionate mind
• 5+ years of experience in Java development
• Knowledge and working experience of Git, HTML, CSS and Typescript
• A true team player and excellent in communication and collaboration
• Good knowledge in development of high availability applications

Meritorious requirements:

• Experience with Gerrit
• You’ve contributed to open-source
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Understanding of CI/CD – use and operations
• Experience with the Scrum framework
