Assignment description

We are looking for a Cloud-based Software Developer for our client’s team that develops and maintains a cloud-based data platform solution that performs collection, processing, and publishing of data from cars. This is used by other teams within the company to draw conclusions about the car, improving product performance and customer experience. Their technology roadmap is exciting, and you will be part of an amazing journey when they scale up with new vehicle platforms and features. They support different data formats, structures, and delivery protocols as well as providing GDPR compliance as a service to their other teams.

What you’ll do:
In your role as cloud-based Software Developer, you have the opportunity to work in an ever-evolving agile way of working where you will be part of an empowered product team that strives for continuous learning and improvement. You and your team will define, develop, build, test, and deploy highly secure cloud-based data platform solutions for data products. Examples include server applications written in Python/Go that collect, process. Publish car data using a REST APIs, S3 interface and gRPC protocol; various ETL tasks with big data frameworks including Apache Spark, Apache Arrow, Spark Streaming to efficiently handle data from millions of cars. Their solutions are hosted cloud-native with Kubernetes. However, you will be highly interacting with AWS and Azure as well.

You will collaborate with your Product Owner to ensure the right functionality is being developed and estimate the size and complexity of the work to be able to plan upcoming sprints. You will determine and maintain the technical design in their area within the given architectural guidelines.

Who you are:

• Passionate about high quality code development
• Have hands on experience with Python/Go for API development, SQL/NoSQL databases, and development/management on Kubernetes including automation and CI/CD with GitHub/GitLab actions
• Experience of system engineering and software testing.
• Familiar with the Agile methods and DevOps
• Fluent in English both verbal and written
• Additional experience in big data environments, like Apache Spark, Apache Arrow or similar
• Experience about the Azure and AWS cloud environments
• Additional experience in e2e testing/test automation within Cloud is highly valuable
• 5-8 years of work experience in the relevant field and a master’s degree in engineering
• Proactive approach, a problem solver, and a flexible team player

• Used to work in a high pace and fast changing business, which gives you additional drive and stimulate your sense of urgency, creativity, and curiosity
