The Driving Experience department supports the strategic direction of “For life. Freedom to move in a Personal, Sustainable and Safe way.”. They organise competence in dynamic attributes such as vehicle dynamics, brake attributes, performance & drivability, road noise, wind noise, climate & cooling noise, solidity, operational sound quality, audio & ANC performance, interactive sound design and trimmed body acoustics & dynamics. In close collaboration with the design and release teams they take responsibility for a great driving experience for their end users. To further increase their customer knowledge, they need to strengthen their competence and resources in data science.

Job description:
As a Data scientist in the Driving Experience – Strategy and Insight team, you will be responsible for creating data-driven insights to transform their customer interactions, improve customer satisfaction, and driving experience growth. You will work closely with teams with different attributes in Complete Vehicle Engineering, including data engineering, marketing, customer service, to develop data-driven solutions that enhance the customer experience and maximize business value.
In this creative role, you will collaborate with other teams in the department to enable data-driven decision-making and aim to collectively evaluate underlying use-cases and analyze key features and functionality in their product offering. You will be at the forefront of implementing innovation and transformation by developing, validating, and implementing machine learning models and algorithms that create substantial business impact. This role provides a unique opportunity to combine domain expertise, analytical skills, and decision support to make their platform the best choice for working with datasets.

You will also provide technical mentorship to your colleagues, building a culture of scalability in ML model development and Advanced data analytics. Your partnership with the Strategy and Insight team will be instrumental in enhancing the data science tooling for deploying, monitoring, and operating ML models.

As self-development is one of their core competencies, you are also keeping abreast of the latest research and technological innovations, and proactively pinpoint opportunities to refine and enhance their methodologies in the development and management of machine learning models.

Skills you will contribute:
Our client believe that the ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Data analytics tools, ML algorithms and model development. In this role, they are looking for an individual with several years of experience as a Data Scientist. Moreover, they hope to find candidates that is good trouble-shooters, capable of identifying and resolving issues during operation while simultaneously proposing enhancements to existing processes. You should be comfortable driving changes and implementing structure in a dynamic and ambiguous setting. Good communication and presentation skills in English is also a key factor in this position since you will work with different stakeholders, both on the business as well as technical side cross their organisation, which also demands good collaboration skills.

Necessary criteria and credentials:

• Develop an understanding of customer/test engineers obstacles, create solutions based on advanced analytics and draw implications for model development.
• Combine, explore and draw insights from data.
• Solid understanding of machine-learning techniques and statistical tools.
• Solid programming skills using Python and SQL to integrate and process data efficiently. Also, experience from popular machine learning packages (Scikit-learn, Tensorflow or PyTorch) is a strong merit, combined with actual model deployment experience.
• Experience in Data analytics tools like Power BI, Tablea.
• Understanding of a cloud architecture, e.g. AWS, Azure or Google Cloud platform
• Experience from version handling tools, e.g. Git and infrastructure tools like Docker is a strong merit.
• Master of Science in Data Science or other relevant area
• At least 5 years of experience in the relevant subject areas
• Experience in car product development is meritorious.
