Our client is looking for a PLC Test Automation Engineer to join their team in Stockholm.
Engineering & Supply Business Unit High Speed Separators is responsible for engineering and delivery customer projects for separator systems to biotech, pharmaceutical, starch, vegetable oil, protein, brewery, biofuels, and the beverages industry. In the Electrical and Automation design department we execute electrical design work as well as designing, constructing, and testing of control systems for our system deliveries.
The position is based in Tumba with regular travel activity to Södertälje, Segeltorp and Jordbro.
What you’ll do:
- Software tests and validation of PLC programs for the Life Science industry
- Troubleshooting/debugging PLCs and HMIs while actively contributing to the successful implementation of projects.
- To conduct comprehensive software testing of PLC programs and control panels using advanced test equipment.
- Adhering to GMP/GDP regulations, you will establish meticulous documentation for automation packages. Effectively communicate these standards to internal and external stakeholders, while owning the continuous improvement initiatives, refining, and enhancing our automation standards over time.
- Hands-on tasks, including connecting electrical test boxes. Your practical skills in connecting wires, understanding sensor configurations, and troubleshooting electrical components.
In order to succeed in this role, we expect you to have:
- A university degree in automation (M.Sc./B.Sc.), or related area.
- Few years of experience from automation systems in industrial applications.
- Expertise in PLC and HMI programming using Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, FTV Studio, gained through commissioning or service roles.
- Proven experience in control system testing and automation software validation, including practical skills connecting wires between test equipment and automation electrical cabinets. Familiarity with various sensor connections, 4-20mA signals, and 24v I/Os.
- Ability to identify and solve deviations in Software Description Specification documents (SDS).
- Strong practical knowledge of industrial OEM machines, particularly in Life Science environments alongside experience in controlling liquid flow, temperature, and pressure.
- Familiarity with GMP/GDP regulations.
- Knowledge of automation standards such as S88, GAMP5, etc., is meritorious, as well as understanding of automation applications in food and water sectors, particularly in Life Science contexts.
