Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Software Developer within Test.

The Audio Systems group is responsible for HW-, SW- and System development of all the audio functionalities in the cars. Apart from the sound systems (amplifier and speakers), their Team’s responsibilities also include systems like ANC (Active Noise Control), Microphones, Bluetooth Handsfree, and Exterior Sound for Hybrid/Electrical vehicles. Project Management and Audio Tuning are also part of the group’s responsibilities. Their daily work includes transforming ideas into innovations to meet the high standards of future vehicles. They use the latest technologies and advanced methods within the audio field, and with the launch of all the new audio content in the new SPA platform, they are at the forefront of audio technology in cars.

As a Software Developer and tester, you will be part of a highly skilled agile team, which has a good mix of nationality, gender, age, and experience. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in software development and testing with each sprint. There are no limits when it comes to how much there is to learn.

They are looking for a professional and enthusiastic Software developer within the Audio Team, who will support with the latest in-house development of SW and test cases.

Responsibilities:

• You will be working in a team developing, testing, and maintaining SW components, written in high-level object-oriented C++, which will interact with the audio amplifier system in the car.
• In the Team, you will create unit-tests and integration tests for the code that you develop, to ensure code quality.

Note: You do NOT need any sound/acoustic experience to write these SW components in C++.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Object-oriented C++ knowledge
• Familiarity with CMake build system
• Familiarity with GoogleTest (C++ Google Testing and Mocking Framework)
• Proficient in Unix/Linux OS and the Unix command line
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge in SW design/architecture
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Git
• Agile mindset

Meritorious:

• Proficient in Docker
• Familiarity with any Static analysis tool for C++ code
• Proficient in Python
• Familiarity with GDB (GNU Project Debugger)
• Proficient in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment CI/CD
• Familiarity with Ansible
• Audiophile (audio interested)
• Has worked with Digital Signal Processing
• Has knowledge of how to create automated test cases for Audio-specific testing
• Basic understanding of the Automotive Ethernet
