Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Senior Battery System Engineer.

They are in need of a Senior Battery System Engineer to cover a parental leave position. Our client’s team specializes in battery system architecture, concept development, and system engineering. This role will primarily focus on battery system engineering, involving attribute follow-up, balance adjustments as necessary, requirement management, SFMEA, and coordination of various tasks related to these areas.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in or lead architecture work for new battery products based on developed platforms (scalability, voltage windows, cell chemistry choice, cell size, high voltage architecture, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with propulsion architects, software departments, and battery cell engineers to coordinate activities effectively.
• Provide support to design teams to optimize their designs for the best attribute balance across the entire battery system.
• Analyze CAE & Test results and conduct root cause analysis of failed tests.
• Perform S-FMEA analysis.
• Assist in the development of test specifications to verify various attributes (mainly energy, performance, fast charging, sustainability, safety, and thermal properties).

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in automotive or similar product development.
• At least 5 years’ experience in battery design, preferably in system engineering or architecture.
• Experience in the tasks mentioned above.
• Fluent in English.
