Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Prototype Modeler.

Section 5127X, the Physical Design Modelling Studio, is primarily responsible for creating physical design models and prototypes in collaboration with project managers, designers, studio engineers, and suppliers. These models play a crucial role in the decision-making process for the management team. The department comprises four groups: 51271 Concept Modelling & Model Support, 51272 Physical Exterior Modelling, 51273 Physical Interior Modelling, and 51274 Colour & Material Modelling. Currently, the department consists of 25 permanent employees and approximately 20 consultants.

They aim to enhance their team with an experienced clay modeller. This role involves challenging and creative work collaborating with the team and designers to develop new designs, primarily in clay. The position requires utilizing clay modelling skills to prepare models for both internal and external reviews.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with designers to develop new clay designs, primarily focusing on exteriors but also interiors.
• Produce show models for reviews, with an emphasis on exterior design but also including interior elements.
• Create models to support critical decisions made by managers.
• Take responsibility for results in assigned projects, including both models and team members.

Required Qualifications:

• Modeler skills level 3.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
• Ability to take the lead in minor modelling projects.
• Strong communication skills with designers and project managers.
• Leadership abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
• Proficiency in English.
