Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a System Test Engineer – Data Collection System.

Our client is on an ambitious journey to redefine the customer experience in the automotive industry through digital technology. Software engineering plays a crucial role in this transformation, with a focus on continuous integration and managing complex interactions between functions. Connectivity is an essential enabler for vehicle functions, including diagnostics and data collection, but it also introduces privacy and cybersecurity risks that require innovative and robust designs.

In the Engineering Data Hub department, they strive to provide engineers with high-quality vehicle data to understand customers and improve products. They are expanding their team and seeking curious, creative individuals who are passionate about innovation.

The Data Collection System team is responsible for developing and operating solutions to collect vehicle data over the air. The solution must meet high standards for privacy compliance, flexibility, and fast response times, with ongoing enhancements to meet evolving analytics needs for Engineering and new customer services.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the complete system design and architecture to develop efficient test case scenarios.
  • Prepare and perform tests in different testing environments (RIG, HIL, complete vehicle).
  • Analyze test results and communicate findings with stakeholders.
  • Automate test cases to improve efficiency.
  • Perform problem-solving, fault tracing, and debugging.
  • Ensure testing validates quality and adheres to safety regulations.
  • Collaborate in defining requirements and maintaining test documentation.
  • Investigate and improve test environments to meet future platform needs.
  • Participate in technical discussions and decisions.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Embedded Software, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical, and/or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent automotive industry experience.
  • Solid knowledge in software development, testing, test strategies, and quality assurance.
  • Experience with integration-driven development and evolving systems in complex electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with requirement handling, safety standards, and product reliability in automotive settings.
  • Background in automotive, preferably in in-vehicle communications, with basic knowledge of Cloud applications and TCP/IP communication.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and automotive Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
  • Familiarity with Scrum methodologies and experience in a dynamic, two-week sprint cycle.
