Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Senior Surface Designer.

For our client’s Exterior Surface Design team, they are seeking a skilled surface design consultant. They seek an individual who possesses patience and dedication, excelling in conceptualizing and modeling complex shapes to achieve harmonic perfection. Main Responsibilities:

• Create exterior surface models using Alias, ICEMSurf, Blender, and/or Maya.
• Collaborate with Designers and Studio Engineers to integrate technical constraints and design intentions into the digital model.
• Deliver surface models within agreed time frames, adjusting the level of detail according to design maturity.

Requirements:

• Relevant education
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in surface modeling within the automotive industry, with Level 3 generic competencies in ”delivering excellence in execution”
• Basic CATIA skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Polygon modeling skills are a bonus Experience:
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with team members and the project team
• Understanding of how part shape impacts appearance
• Experience in interpreting design sketches and translating them into 3D models
• Capacity to estimate, communicate, and adjust the level of detail to meet digital model requirements
• Experience in modeling complete exteriors in the conceptual phase
• Basic knowledge of technical and legal constraints
