Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a System Engineer.

Software engineering is becoming increasingly critical in the automotive industry. Our client is bringing more of the software development in-house to better handle continuous integration and the complex interactions between divergent functions. Connectivity serves as an enabler for most vehicle functions, including diagnostics and data collection, but it also introduces privacy and cybersecurity risks that need to be managed through innovative and robust designs.
In the Engineering Data Hub department, they prioritize high-quality vehicle data to empower engineers to understand their customers and improve their products. As they continue to grow, they are seeking curious and creative individuals who want to change the world through innovative thinking.
The Data Collection System team is responsible for developing and operating the organization’s solution to collect vehicle data over the air. The solution is designed to meet ambitious standards for privacy compliance, flexibility, and fast response times. They continuously add new capabilities to meet the expectations and increasing needs from analytics for Engineering and new customer services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on efficient measurement assignment creation for vehicle data collection, ensuring privacy compliance and safety.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders from various parts of the organization, offering advice on suitable data collection methodologies for their use cases.
- Create and maintain measurement assignments for different fleets, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop efficient monitoring solutions for the complete data collection system, ensuring smooth operation.
- Continuously identify and implement improvements in the tools used for data collection, focusing on automation, optimization, and self-service for users.
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Embedded Software, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience in the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of software development and in-vehicle communication protocols such as UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) and XCP (Universal Measurement and Calibration Protocol).
- Basic understanding of Cloud applications and TCP/IP communication.
- Familiarity with Scrum methodologies and experience working in a dynamic, two-week sprint cycle.
- Proficiency in programming languages and experience with automotive Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
- Experience in Python/C++ programming.
