Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Test Automation Engineer – Digital Key & Approach.

The Connected Experience organization within R&D includes Remote Functions, Connectivity and Car Cloud Platform, Infotainment Platform, Applications, and Data & Diagnostics. Their vision and strategy are to maximize the attractiveness of owning and using their cars, make all cars connected, and provide a continuously enhanced experience for both new and existing cars.

Their Agile Release Train (ART) Remote Functions mission within the Department Car Cloud Platform and Remote Functions is to enable remote functions globally to contribute to the overall connected experience. They build, provide, and operate a highly secure runtime ecosystem for functions and applications serving their connected cars and their users. Our client aims to optimize functional and organic growth by using cutting-edge standards from Car Connectivity Consortium® together with cloud services, the latest technology from phone OEMs, and connectivity. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute automated test scripts for digital key and phone-based car access systems.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure the quality and stability of embedded software.
  • Plan and implement end-to-end test scenarios, including testing on real mobile devices and cars.
  • Contribute to continuous integration (CI) processes by integrating and running tests within CI pipelines.
  • Explore and define test scenarios and approach strategies for ensuring the connected experience.
  • Work alongside manual testers to complement testing efforts and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Utilize a combination of hardware and software testing skills to address testing needs effectively.
  • Participate in the development of embedded software, hardware, and wireless connectivity solutions.
  • Embrace exploratory testing as a vital component of ensuring product quality and reliability.
  • Be prepared for potential travel requirements as part of the role.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as an automation tester with a focus on both hardware and software testing.
  • Preferably, experience as a developer and/or manual tester to provide a well-rounded testing perspective.
  • Relevant education in testing or development fields, demonstrating a strong foundation in testing principles.

Additional Technical Qualifications:

  • Test case execution.
  • Result documentation.
  • Test rig setup and testing.
  • Documented experience in automated testing and CI.
  • Programming knowledge for creating automated tests, particularly in Python.
  • Experience with pipelines.
  • Automotive experience.
  • CAN bus experience.
  • Fault tracing and debugging experience.
