Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Project Leader for Vehicle Tophat Test and Coordination. This role focuses on coordinating and leading areas of software (SW) Test and Verification for Vehicle Tophat.

The development at our client’s facilities centers on software, and in their next-generation vehicles, they are taking a significant leap forward by launching a centralized compute platform. This platform hosts most of the in-house developed software and is a cornerstone of computer-in-the-car architecture, which is vital for innovation in Vehicle Motion, Advanced Connectivity, Machine Learning, and Autonomous Driving. The mission includes creating a Vehicle Control Unit platform that incorporates new technologies like DriveOS and NVIDIA’s latest chip technology, alongside traditional car signaling technologies.

The Vehicle Tophat unit, part of six development units within the Research & Development department, is tasked with developing state-of-the-art Interior and Exterior solutions/systems. These include Instrument & Door Panels, Tunnel Console, Switches & Displays, unique premium Seating Experiences, and world-leading Interior Safety Systems. The Exterior Systems/Solutions include mechatronic systems such as Exterior Lighting, Wiper, Washer, Sensor Cleaning, and Rear-View Systems. The unit operates in both Gothenburg and Shanghai.

The Quality & Operations Department within Vehicle Tophat supports SW Development teams by providing the infrastructure necessary for integrating, testing, and releasing software in a Continuous Integration (CI) flow. This includes the development and maintenance of Hardware-in-Loop setups and building a robust Automated Test Framework.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with teams to enable SW Validation & Verification on Test Vehicles, focusing on comprehensive and effective testing processes.
• Investigate fault slip-through scenarios, analyze test case failures, implement corrective measures, and report findings to the Verification & Validation Leader.
• Ensure strong collaboration with the SW Integration Leader and SW Release Leader for seamless software integration and testing, emphasizing quality assurance.
• Maintain the generic schedule for in-vehicle testing, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
• Coordinate manual testing efforts at the client’s Software Test Center.
• Follow up to ensure that test results are reported accurately.

Mandatory Requirements:

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical/Embedded Systems, Electronics, Physics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software validation and verification, particularly in a project leadership role.
• Strong background in test automation and familiarity with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) or vehicle test environments.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot issues, especially in identifying fault slip-through scenarios.
• Strong project management skills, including maintaining and optimizing testing schedules.
• Fluent in English with demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Effective communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong commitment to ensuring software quality through effective validation and verification processes.

Meritorious:

• Experience with Matlab and Simulink, software component integration with hardware nodes, vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and hardware-in-loop environments (dSpace, Vector, National Instruments).
• Programming skills in Python, C++, or CAPL.
• Knowledge of vehicle/traffic simulation, sensor integration (radar, camera, lidar, ultrasonic), and test automation at system or functional levels.
• Driving License ‘B’.
