Assignment Description
Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Project Manager to assume responsibility for an ongoing project. This project is a critical part of the client’s significant Data and Analytics transformation aimed at enabling the business to make informed, data-driven decisions using a modern suite of BI tools and data solutions.
Our client coordinates efforts across the company to ensure the right tools and priorities are in place. Their goal is to provide customers with a premium quality experience through intuitive, user-friendly products and services, delivered in a personal and effortless manner.
The Quality Data Analytics & Survey Team, comprised of data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers, is passionate about harnessing the power of data to drive actionable insights. They manage Quality data with the objective of linking customer and vehicle insights to strategic planning, early detections, and daily processes. Their aim is to create insights, methods, and tools to support decision-making within the Quality Department and other key stakeholders, significantly impacting our client’s quality performance.
What You’ll Do
For over 20 years, SAP-BO has been a critical BI tool/data source within our client’s organization for quality-related data analysis and sourcing. With SAP-BO support ending in January 2025, our client has decided to transition all use cases to alternative platforms, such as Snowflake and Power BI.
Project Phoenix began in January of this year. The first quarter was dedicated to an idea phase, which included a proof of value and technical feasibility study. The project has now moved into the build and production phase, which will continue until October/November, followed by a transition period to close the current solution. With the departure of the current project manager/business analyst, we are seeking a new Project Manager to lead the project through to its completion at year-end.
This project requires rapid progress, bold decision-making, and a clear focus on the main goal: ensuring that current users can seamlessly transition by January 1st. These users are distributed across various organizational units and have varying levels of proficiency with the new BI tools and data solutions. The project will need to cater to all user personas with the available resources, demanding an upskilling of users.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all planned deliverables, identify and resolve issues, and maintain momentum on all project deliverables.
- Manage project cadence, including core team meetings, continuous risk reviews, and steering committee meetings.
- Proactively develop the project backlog to maintain pace in the build phase and adhere to the decided path, avoiding scope creep unless aligned with project timing.
- Maintain all necessary documentation.
- Manage change and communication effectively.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management.
- Strong background in change management.
- Excellent communication skills; proficiency in English is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder environments.
- Knowledge of Data and Analytics tools is preferred.
Desired Attributes:
- Quick learner, able to identify key facts early to maximize project value.
- Decisive and capable of executing swiftly.
- Skilled in prioritization and adaptable to changing situations.
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach.
- Sociable and collaborative nature.
- Must appreciate the challenge of optimizing solutions that are not initially perfect. Our client is not seeking someone to evaluate and change the proposed solutions, but rather someone who can support making these solutions the best possible within a tight six-month timeframe.
