Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking an IMDS Data Analyst & Project Lead. At their Materials Engineering Centre (MEC), they ensure that the materials used in their products meet sustainability goals and quality standards. The Environmental Health and IMDS group is responsible for securing interior air quality, interior emissions, non-exhaust emissions, and substances of concern. The IMDS team within this group focuses primarily on data handling within the International Material Data System (IMDS), sustainable materials, substances of concern, recyclability, and life cycle assessment (LCA).

Contribution/Responsibilities:

You will analyze and report environmental data, including homologation and legal compliance. You will manage and program databases and scripts, as well as work on continuous improvements of our client’s processes and data handling. There is also a need and an opportunity to lead projects within the department.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Be a team member in the IMDS team, focusing on data management and analytics.
  • Support design engineers with data collection and follow-up questions from reviews.
  • Use several in-house developed tools in your daily tasks.
  • Engage in different parts of the team’s deliveries as workload varies.

Other Opportunities:

  • Lead projects within the department with the potential to advance to more senior tasks based on performance and development in initial projects.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree or equivalent experience in data management and IT systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development.
  • Experience in one or more of the following roles/areas: Design Engineer, GDL, SQM/SPM, or similar.
  • Familiarity with VPDS and program deliveries, PPAP process including IMDS, and procurement and supplier involvement.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of database or programming, preferably Microsoft Access & VBA.
  • Experience in leading projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge or experience in environmental science, chemistry, or materials/substances is a plus.
