Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Functional Safety Engineer. As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will act as the main engineering customer interface for all questions related to Functional Safety in the propulsion domain.

The Team

You will join a cross-functional team consisting of Longitudinal Vehicle Control developers with extensive experience in functional safety solutions, providing guidance and support. The team has a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will work within the propulsion domain to help deliver associated FuSa artifacts.

Deliveries

• Functional Safety-related artifacts including but not limited to TSR, FSR, Functional Safety Test Plans, and HARA.
• Develop deliverables related to relevant propulsion items and subsystems (e.g., establishment of HARA, Functional Safety Concepts, Technical Safety Concepts), ensuring the delivery of all associated work products.
• Define the safety architecture and safety mechanisms to fulfill the Safety Goals, FSR, and TSR input requirements.
• Coach engineering teams to understand and implement safety concepts in hardware and software designs.

Required Qualifications

• Good knowledge and hands-on experience with the processes and concepts used in the ISO 26262 functional safety standard.
• Experience with automotive system design and development.

Other Requirements

• Experience applying functional safety to automotive drivetrain or propulsion systems is highly desirable.
• Previous experience with Matlab/Simulink is advantageous.
• Experience with software development and the application of ISO 26262 to this extent (e.g., static code analysis) is advantageous.
• Experience with testing at a software level is desirable.
• Driver’s license B.
