Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer. As an Electrical Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing hardware solutions that enhance steering performance, safety, and reliability. This role requires expertise in electrical engineering, automotive systems, and a deep understanding of steering technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Hardware Design: Set requirements, design, and develop electronic hardware for automotive steering systems, including electric power-assisted steering systems (EPAS), steer-by-wire systems, steering angle sensors, and steering column adjustment motors.
  • Circuit Design: Set requirements, design, and develop analog and digital circuit designs for steering control units, sensors, and actuators.
  • Component Selection: Select and validate electronic components and materials to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of steering systems.
  • Schematic and PCB Layout: Set requirements, design, and develop schematics and printed circuit board (PCB) layouts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and design guidelines.
  • Prototyping: Build and test prototypes of steering hardware components, ensuring they meet design specifications and performance requirements.
  • Testing and Validation: Validate comprehensive test plans for hardware testing, including functional testing, environmental testing, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing.
  • Failure Analysis: Perform root cause analysis of hardware failures and implement corrective actions to enhance the robustness and reliability of steering systems.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure hardware designs comply with automotive industry standards, such as ISO 26262 for functional safety and ISO 16750 for environmental conditions and testing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of hardware and software components.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for hardware designs, development processes, and testing procedures. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and aligns with industry best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive hardware technology. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the adoption of new methodologies and tools.
