Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is currently seeking a Software Fault Tracer.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support electrical hardware and software build, test, and maintenance activities of prototype vehicles, boxcars, and rigs.
  • Analyze electrical hardware and software faults and work with SW Integration engineers and SW developers to help identify solutions.
  • Support verification/validation activities including in-market testing and rig testing in Sweden.
  • Manage large workloads in a high-pressure environment and prioritize accordingly.
  • Be methodical, pay attention to detail, and be a flexible and enthusiastic person who can work under your own initiative.
  • Work with fault tracer teams in the UK, Sweden, and China.

Competence Requirements:

  • Experience using automotive vehicle diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with laptop-based diagnostic software, measurement, and calibration tools (CANalyzer or equivalent).
  • Experience in identification and diagnosis of vehicle issues and working with cross-functional teams to implement required resolutions.
  • Experience with vehicle network architectures such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet.
  • Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and work on vehicle harnesses.
  • Knowledge of software/feature fault diagnostics methods, tools, and practices.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge and working experience with EV and hybrid vehicle architectures.
  • Experience working with prototype vehicles and rigs.
  • Experience in building and commissioning test properties such as rigs and boxcars.
  • Experience using specialized diagnostic and test tools (e.g., CANoe, CANape, INCA).
  • Experience in aspects of vehicle repair outside of electrical systems.
  • Experience with automotive pre-production build environments, including manufacturing processes, car configuration, feature coding, and VCATS implementation.
  • Good computer skills (Office programs).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including appropriate escalation and reporting where required.
