Assignment Description

Our client in the automotive industry is looking for a Backend Java Developer for their Digital Finance team, with a focus on the Product Costing area. This area involves the calculation, tracking, and forecasting of all costs incurred when creating a product or service. They are modernizing this area and are now setting up a new product team for a new solution where you will be one of the team members.

You are a skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Java/SpringBoot, GitHub, Maven, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and various integration techniques like messaging (IBM MQ) and data handling. Other tools that can be mentioned include Istio, Argo CD, Azure, Kafka, Snowflake, and GraphQL. You also have experience with test automation at the API level and have worked with test automation frameworks and configurations.

About the Team

The Product Costing Team is responsible for solutions used for tracking and planning all costs incurred when manufacturing a product or a service. This is part of our client’s financial core, where they build services that provide information for steering and controlling, creating engaging experiences for their end users. Their mission is to provide accurate and timely data for analysis to give management relevant data for decision-making.

A new product team will be set up with competencies in backend, frontend, and testing. Java, React, and SQL will be used in a solution that has high demands on data handling for calculations and analyses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code (Java, SQL, scripts).
• Handle integrations of backend services, ensuring seamless communication across different platforms and cloud technologies.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to create cohesive and scalable solutions.
• Drive innovation and initiatives within the team, contributing to the continuous improvement of their processes and services.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in Java with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Experience with cloud technologies and various communication protocols.
• Experience in data analysis and handling high data volumes in system integrations.
• Strong experience in developing and integrating complex backend services.
• Strong experience in test automation and performance testing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of working in a cross-functional team environment and closely with different stakeholders.
